We left the hospital on Saturday morning with Praise, Brenda and Katelyn who were joining us for the first two days of our safari. Near where we we going to stay we would pass the equator and Praise and I were excited about this. After a couple of hours of driving we stopped at a souvenir store – the three girls did some shopping. Then we arrived at the equator. It was fun to pose for photos.

Then we arrived at Sweetwater. As we were walking in to reception Brenda spotted some Rhinos at the watering hole. Then we were shown to our tent …. I didn’t know camping could be so luxurious. We face a field where we saw many animals during our stay. Zebra, Rhino’s, Water bucks, Gazelles, Impalas to name a few. ( I can’t forget Pumba the wart hog)

After a delicious buffet lunch we settled in and then went on safari in the afternoon. We saw quite a number of animals – but the highlight was the pride of lions that we watched for a while.

We went for a night safari where we saw the lions go on a hunt for food. The females hunt whilst the male lags behind, to eat when the females have done the work. We didn’t see a kill.

Ric had organized a cake for my birthday at the end of the first day.
