Today we really felt that we were in Africa. We went to church this morning and there was a choir. We really enjoyed the enthusasm and way they sang.

Today I was asked to consult in the morning at ER. I saw the skinniest boy I have ever seen. He is 16 and had come in with twitching all over. Started in his feet and abdomen and then progressed to his chest and arms. It settled with diazepam. Had had one episode before – turns out it was hypercalcaemia. Some of these people are so sick beffore they present.

I spent the rest of the morning at their HIV clinic. They also have a TB programme and Palative care clinic. The gardener in me was interested in the fact they teach the poor villiagers how to grow veggies by giving them a veggie container. There was talk of maybe us going to the villagers to hand these out – hope we get to do that.

Ric was busy all day as there were contractors who wanted to bid for chopping up the concrete.

In the evening after supper …guess what …we played games!
