Having been here a week, we are now in a different rythym. We still get up at 6.00am but how easily we get used to brushing our teeth with bottled water instead of tap water and sleeping beneath a mosquito net. ( there are not too many mosquitos here but we dont go out at dusk or in the early morning just in case.)

Ric and I still do wordle, connections and sudoko in the morning with breakfast (our coffee pot works well). Then at 7.30 there are devotions in the church within the hospital complex.

Then it’s off to clinic or the wards or ER for me and to meet with Eric for Ric. (I have clinic monday wed and Friday).

Friday evening we invited some of the doctors for games night and a meal. I wondered if anyone was going to show as we suggested 6.00pm and no-one was here until after 6.30 and it was 7.00 until everyone arrived. (but they all showed up and brought some delicious food with them- well the girls did…). We played pictionary and then charades and laughed so much my abs hurt. It was such a fun evening. I think everyone enjoyed it as they suggested we do it again next wednesday. The apartments they stay in at the hospital complex are quite small whereas we have a three bed house with a large dining sitting area.

Saturday we got up early and went on safari for the day to Samburu park which is about 2 hours away. Was such a great day. I will post photos in a seperate post.

Its hard to believe we have been here a week – the time has gone quickly but also feels like we have been here a long time. We are trying to be as useful as we can be and soak up every moment.
